Vint Cerf has dedicated his life to the internet. After earning his Ph.D. in Computer Science at UCLA, Cerf worked on the ARPANET project. He joined the Stanford faculty and collaborated with Robert Kahn on the design of the Internet and the TCP/IP protocols, before joining DARPA to lead the Internetting program. Cerf joined MCI Digital Information Systems where he served as the Chief Engineer of the first commercial email system, the same year as the Internet was launched operationally.

Cerf has been distinguished with many awards and commendations such as the Turing award, the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the first Queen Elizabeth Prize for Engineering and the prestigious Japan Prize. Cerf has also been inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame and received a lifetime achievement award from the Oxford Internet Institute.

Cerf holds a BSc degree in Mathematics from Stanford University and Master of Science as well as honorary Doctorate degrees from over 20 universities. He is also a distinguished visiting scientist at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory, where he is working on the design of an interplanetary Internet and serves as Vice President and Chief Internet Evangelist for Google. It is with reverence and joy we welcome Vint Cerf to Campus Party; a vanguard whose efforts and dedication have changed all of our lives for ever.
