Got a great idea for a new technology start up? Wayra could be the means to get your idea to the next level and is now open for submissions.

From today until 21 January 2013, Wayra Academies in Barcelona, Bogota, Buenos Aires, Dublin, London, Madrid, Munich, Santiago and Sao Paulo are open for applications. They are being joined by a new addition to the Wayra family – the Prague Academy. Perfect for any entrepreneurs in Eastern Europe!

Wayra is Telefónica’s global startup accelerator, created in 2011 to find and nurture the best technology talent in Latin America and Europe. In addition to financing, startups who are successful in joining a Wayra Academy receive access to an amazing state-of-the-art workspace, mentoring and access to Telefónica’s technical expertise. They also become part of a global network of like-minded entrepreneurs.

With the launch of Prague, there are now 13 Academies in 12 countries in Latin America and Europe, currently hosting over 170 businesses.

This is the first time that Wayra has simultaneously launched a call for entries at all of its Academies that have places available.

It means that the initiative is truly global with entrepreneurs from anywhere able to apply to the Academy of their choice (subject to visa and work permit requirements of course!). So if you’ve ever fancied starting your new business in Barcelona, check it out.

The Christmas break is the perfect time to think about and develop your business idea. So if your new year’s resolution is to become an entrepreneur, visit http://www.wayra.org/joinus and submit your application before the 21 January 2013. Go on…
