There are many ways to learn on the Internet, so it’s time you started using the web to your advantage – to learn more things.

The Internet is a significant part of our lives, whether we are lovers of technology or not, and whether we like it or not. For some people, such as the Generation Z, a world without the Internet is something they have simply never known because they were born at a time when it was already available, and it seems that this constant contact with technology is creating individuals who are go-getters and like creating new things.

A case in point is that of Linda Manziaris, a 15-year-old girl who already has an accessories and jewellery company in Toronto. She began designing jewellery when she was just 13, and along with her sister, has decided to donate 50% of the profits of her company to foundations that help to educate girls around the world.

When we exercise, we produce a protein that goes into the bloodstream and then reaches the brain, improving our memory and concentration.

What about Shawn Mendes? This boy, who was born in 1998, became famous using Vine, where he published versions of songs, made a brand for himself and became a successful singer.

Hannah Alper is another interesting case. As a girl only 12 years old, she is a blogger and an ecology activist, and has used the Internet to make herself known, which has led to her becoming a motivational speaker.

These three success stories are about young people who decided to use the Internet as a platform to innovate in their own way and become a success at what they do. Anyone can take advantage of the Internet in many ways, and one of them is by becoming smarter thanks to all the information available on the web.

Read, Read, Read

Everyone knows that reading is important to learn new things, but if proof is needed, there are many studies that demonstrate this. For instance, in this study, they say reading increases brain functionality in various areas and stimulates the growth of new neural connections while we absorb information. In addition, it makes us use the part of the brain that helps us recognise patterns, interpret what others tell us about how they feel, and solve problems. And as if all this were not enough, it is also a good exercise for the imagination.

So, we can use the Internet to read anything that is necessary, either articles such as this or entire books; the important thing is always to read. If you want to start reading books, you can legally download any you want, free of charge, using the resources we mentioned earlier.

Exercise

Another activity which we know is good for us is exercise. It helps us stay in better shape, but is also good for the brain. According to studies, when we exercise, it produces a protein that goes into the bloodstream and then reaches the brain. This protein improves our memory and concentration. The Internet can also be used for exercising, either by using sites with paid subscriptions, such as FitFusion or DailyBurn, or by following completely free YouTube channels, such as FitnessBlender, Gym Virtual or Sarah Fit.

For some people, such as the Generation Z, a world without the Internet is something they have simply never known.

Learn a New Language

If you are bilingual, you will have more grey matter in the language centre. This means that it will be easier for you to concentrate on two tasks at once because the areas of the brain which focus on reasoning, planning and memory will be more developed. Although it is easier for children to learn several languages at the same time, it is never too late to learn English, Italian, Mandarin or any other language you like, because at any stage of life it will make you more intelligent and, according to some studies, may even delay dementia.

The Internet can also provide help with the task of learning new languages and we have shared many sites where you can begin. For instance, you can use one of these five platforms, or these other four sites, to learn English or any other language you are interested in, completely free.
