A true pioneer in the world of commercial computing and a globally recognised authority on free and open source software, Jon “maddog” Hall has been a programmer, designer, administrator, manager, author, educator and consultant in his long and distinguished career.

Having worked for companies in sectors as far-reaching as insurance, telecommunications and research and development, Jon Hall is currently working as an independent consultant and is furthering the endeavours of Project Caua (www.projectcaua.org).Working hard to create thousands of micro high-tech ventures, reduce computer energy consumption, facilitate the computer use, create free wireless networks in all urban areas and create a network of adaptable and accessible supercomputers for parallel processing, Jon Hall is part of an impassioned and significant undertaking to make the digital environment a universal one.

It is therefore fitting that Jon Hall has been stalwartly promoting and believing in Campus Party for many years and brings with him an embodiment of the aims and ethos that Campus Party strives to realise.
